With decades of leadership experience in both the private sector and public education, Jill brings practical problem-solving skills, integrity, and a deep commitment to protecting Sussex County’s future.

A Leader Committed to Smart Growth

Jill recently served on the Sussex County Land Use Reform Working Group, helping develop 20 major recommendations to better align county growth with infrastructure, services, and long-term sustainability.

She knows the decisions County Council makes today will shape Sussex County for the next decade and beyond.

“County Council will soon be making decisions on planning and land use that will affect our lives for the next 10 years. It’s vital to have a council member committed to positive change. I am that person. I am committed to bringing common-sense change and affordability priorities to the council.”

Jill is running to ensure growth works for residents — not against them.

Standing Up for Our Communities

Jill co-founded and served as President of the Sussex Preservation Coalition, growing it into a 4,000-member grassroots organization advocating for stronger environmental protections and responsible development.

Her activism began when proposed development near her home highlighted weaknesses in local environmental safeguards. Rather than stand by, Jill stepped forward to lead.

Jill’s Priorities

As a member of County Council, Jill will champion policies that:

*Promote livable and affordable communities

* Drive responsible, smart land-use decisions

* Ensure infrastructure keeps pace with development

* Protect our environment and natural resources

* Preserve farmland and open space

* Support public education and emergency services

Business Experience That Delivers Results

A graduate of Penn State University with a degree in music, Jill built an impressive corporate career at Wawa.

Over the course of her tenure, she rose through leadership roles including:

* Store Manager

* Real Estate Manager

* Director of Purchasing and Coffee Procurement

* Director of Marketing

* Director of Supply Chain Information Technology

Her experience managing operations, overseeing budgets, and leading teams gives her a strong foundation for public service and responsible governance.

An Educator at Heart

After retiring from Wawa, Jill returned to her first passion — music education — teaching elementary and middle school students for 11 years.

Her time in the classroom deepened her belief in strong public schools, community investment, and the importance of planning for future generations.

Rooted in Sussex County

Jill and her husband Bill live in Chapel Green, Lewes, where they are active members of the community.

She is running to ensure Sussex County remains a place where families can afford to live, farmland and natural spaces are preserved, and growth is guided by thoughtful planning — not short-term interests.
